APM Volunteer Achievement Awards 2021
We are delighted to announce our fourth APM Volunteer Achievement Awards to recognise and reward the invaluable contribution volunteers make to the success of the organisation and wider profession.
NOMINATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED. Shortlist will be announced 11 October 21 with winners being announced November 20212.
Judging
Winners will be selected by the Volunteers’ Steering Group from the entries and nominations which best reflect key APM themes of growth, diversity and alignment to APM strategy.
Timeline
- Nominations close – 27 September 2021, 5pm BST
- Shortlist announced – week commencing 11 October 2021
- Winners announced – November 2021, Winter Volunteers’ Forum (date to be confirmed)
Categories
We have the following seven categories recognising individual and collective successes.
APM Volunteer of the Year:
an award for the individual who most consistently demonstrates the spirit, values and impact of volunteering within APM. This will recognise the individual’s activity and output, and the benefit and impact they offered to the profession.
- Range of activities undertaken in the year
- Impact of the activities they have undertaken in the year
- Spirit in which they have been delivered in the year
APM Volunteer Event of the Year:
an award for the volunteer group that has delivered the best volunteer-led event.
- Quality of event in terms of format and topic
- Audience size
- Delegate feedback
APM Volunteer
Innovation Award:
an award for the group delivering the most innovative volunteering activity in the year.
- Uniqueness of the volunteering activity
- Quality of the activity in terms of audience feedback
- Lasting impact of the volunteering activity
APM Branch of the Year:
an award for the branch which has delivered the most successful programme of activities throughout the year.
- Range of activities
- Diversity of audiences engaged e.g. membership level, location and sector
- Feedback and impact of activities
APM SIG of the Year:
an award for the SIG which has delivered the most successful programme of activities throughout the year
- Range of activities e.g. blogs, marketing collateral, research, guides, collaboration with other SIG/Branches, podcasts
- Feedback and impact of activities
- Diversity of audiences engaged
APM Education Volunteer of the Year:
an award for the volunteer who has made the most significant contribution to education outreach events throughout the year.
- Volume of activities delivered
- Range of activities delivered
- Diversity of audiences engaged e.g. school, university, influencer, media used
APM Special Achievement
an award for the individual who has made a significant contribution to APM and its goals through volunteering, particularly over an extended period.
- Range of activities undertaken over an extended period
- Impact of the activities they have undertaken over an extended period
- Spirit in which they have been delivered over an extended period
Recognition of the awards winners
Winners will be announced at the APM Virtual Volunteers’ Forum in November 2021 and will receive a sustainably sourced APM Trophy per category. Winners will be profiled on the APM website and through social media, to promote the value of volunteering with APM.
