James Barker

James Barker is a Lead Planner at Rolls-Royce Submarines, operating across a number of major programmes within the In-Service Support environment with the primary focus of which is keeping ‘Submarines at Sea’ for the Royal Navy.

James has 8 years’ experience in Planning & Project Management and a background in data analysis & reporting across a number of organisations throughout industries including defence, finance and supply chain logistics.

A full member of the APM and certified in the APM’s PMQ & APMG’s Project Planning & Controls qualifications, he is also a BA(Hons) graduate from Sheffield Hallam University and currently undertaking an MSc in Project Management at the University of Manchester.

In 2018 James and his team achieved a Rolls-Royce Global Programme Management Excellence Award in both ‘Programme of the Year’ and ‘Overall best Programme’, they were also nominated as finalists at the APMs Project Management Awards for Programme of the Year in the category of Transformation.
