What is portfolio management and why is it important?

Following the success of their sold out conference and the release of the first of their new thought leadership series, the Portfolio SIG treated Thames Valley members to a lively session on portfolio management and why it is important.

The event took place on the 23rd May 2017 at the Holiday Inn in Maidenhead. The event was led by Portfolio SIG committee member Adam Skinner who shared what the SIG does, its view on portfolio management and how it interacts with the work and views of the other APM SIGs.

There is little agreement on what 'portfolio management' covers and even less agreement on how to 'do' portfolio management. Adam highlighted that the SIG works to capture an understanding of different views and approaches to portfolio management across sectors and industries and to disseminate these different approaches to its community base. You can follow the work of the Portfolio SIG by clicking joining this group on their community page.

Adam has kindly given us permission to publish his slides used in the presentation from the evening so please view them at your leisure.
