Updates to APM qualification suite 2018/2019
Updates to APM qualification suite 2018/2019
Responding to international growth of APM membership and rising demand from outside the UK for APM qualifications APM is now updating its current suite of qualifications.
The update will cover APM’s Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and Practitioner Qualification (PQ) and will include new IPMA qualifications; Levels A - D to the line-up of qualifications accessible through APM.
Those who currently hold these qualifications will not be affected by any future changes.
Upcoming Changes:
Project Management Qualification (PMQ)
APM will cease dual certifying (awarding IPMA as part of PMQ) from October 2018 and will offer APM qualifications separately from the new IPMA qualifications launching later this year.
PMQ is an internationally recognised qualification, which can be carried from one job to another, or from one industry to another. As a highly regarded qualification in industry, PMQ sits on the route to obtaining the profession’s chartered standard; ChPP (Chartered Project Professional).
Both qualifications will continue to be held to the same rigorous assessment standards and APM remains the sole UK IPMA partner.
Practitioner Qualification (PQ)
From October 2018 APM’s PQ qualification will no longer be open for new applications. Those wishing to obtain IPMA level C will be able sit the APM’s new IPMA Level C Qualification launching later this year.
Those that already hold PQ will continue to be entitled to full membership of APM (additional fees apply).

Are the APM still on track to introduce the replacement APM PQ qualification in November to pick up where APM PQ finishes, or will there be a gap? Will there be any information on the new qualification available before applications go live?
