We are delighted to announce that Shell, through a programme of internal development and assessment, have achieved a Recognised Assessment to Chartered - ChPP status.

One of the three routes available, Shell have completed Route 2 which is for those who have a recognised assessment for technical knowledge and professional practice.

“Shell are the first corporate organisation to gain the recognised assessment status,” comments Debbie Dore, Chief Executive at APM.

“Not only does it demonstrate that they are aligning the assessment of project management competence to the APM charter standard, but they’re also reaffirming their commitment to improving project outcomes and benefits for customers and stakeholders.”

“We are delighted to receive acceptance of our application for the recognised assessment route to ChPP,” said Tom Frost, Head of Shell Project Academy. “Our role is to increase competence development across the Shell organisation to enable delivery of safe and competitive projects. Increasing the number of chartered professionals in project management will demonstrate the level of technical knowledge, professional practices held by our employees and inspire others to follow.”

The APM’s chartered standard has been designed to be accessible yet rigorous, with different assessment routes according to qualifications, previous assessments and experience.

This is an inspiration and great leadership. I have the hope that many leaders in industry follow. It shows great commitment to people development as well as dedication to professional project management. I'm equally proud and appreciative of the business I work for, Yell, for granting me the support needed to take part in the APM PM apprenticeship programme.

Echoing Michelles' comment from earlier last year. Great commitments and efforts are going into the development of the people.
