Discover the secrets and benefits of achieving the Chartered Project Professional status, while successfully delivering projects, programmes and portfolios in the financial services industry as a freelance consultant. This webinar was held on 5 May 2020 and presented by Sunchana Johnston.

Full of wit, honest advice and expertise, Sunchana Johnston gave an overview of the financial industry, methodologies used with a few typical projects mentioned. Sunchana described her journey into the real world of financial services as a successful gig economy freelancer. Based on first-hand experiences post voluntary redundancy from water utilities, this was a story of transformation and discovery of what is essential to succeed; finding the real confidence; winning the first contract in banking; inspiring others; and making freelancing sustainable.

Sunchana confidently gave practical advice interweaving her project management skillsets into achieving the Chartered project professional standards in 2020, explored the benefits, the obstacles and the exciting possibilities that this offers. With a quick overview of ChPP, she described the process and her journey.

Sunchana finished with the future landscapes of managing change in financial services, cybersecurity and fintech.

The outcome was:

  1. Clear understanding of what it takes to make it as Project Management Professional in financial services.
  2. Good understanding of the industry.
  3. Process and benefits of achieving Chartered status.
  4. Potential routes into financial services.
  5. Confidence to achieve the same success as the speaker.
