Play a leading role in driving APM and the profession forward
If you’ve ever wanted to play a leading role in driving APM and the profession forward, which will benefit project professionals and the communities they serve, now’s your opportunity. The board of trustees plays a crucial role in ensuring APM fulfils its mission: to inspire communities to deliver meaningful change for societal benefit by advancing the art, science, theory and practice of project management.
Diversity of thought is important in improving decision making and outcomes. Consequently, APM is keen to see a diverse mix of characteristics and skills on the Board. Candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, sectors, experiences, stages of career, project disciplines and employing organisations would be beneficial.
The Board emphasises the need for the highest calibre candidates and wishes to see those come forward who can demonstrate a robust commitment to professional ethics and integrity. Candidates from a broad range of backgrounds, sectors, experiences, stages of career, project disciplines and employing organisations would be beneficial and a commitment to provide the time and energy required to undertake the role is essential. Applications are welcome from those who can demonstrate the competencies needed to be a Board member and who can operate at the highest level, with a focus on strategic contributions. Whilst beneficial, experience as a non-executive director is not essential.
APM members with Full or Fellow grade membership who feel they can bring diverse skills, backgrounds and experience to the board can nominate themselves to stand in the election. The deadline for nominations is 9 September. Voting will open on 5 October (9am) and results will be announced at APM’s annual general meeting on 16 November.
