APM have published a new guidance for school and college students. Featuring examples of apprentices and graduates from different subject backgrounds, ‘Project: you’ shows students and careers advisers the breadth of the project profession.

“Our guidance will help students understand more about the huge range of opportunities that a career in projects can offer,” explained Caspar Bartington, APM’s Education Manager.

“As the chartered body for the project profession, it is right that we support students and employers in this way. Our recent ‘Making it Happen’ research showed that more than 75 per cent of teachers believed students would be more interested in a project career if they had access to more information about it.”

“So, whether students want to work as an apprentice or graduate in media, financial services, law or any of the other sectors where there are project professionals, this guidance will give useful insight and examples. Our research also told us that project management is a very popular career choice for 21-year-olds – this new guidance, part of APM’s wider outreach programme into schools, colleges and universities, will also enthuse younger learners.”

This launch also coincides with the extension of APM’s free Student membership to 16+ students in education.
