This was a joint webinar from APM People Interest Network and Association for NLP, presented on Monday 16 December.

Discussion on how we all create models of the world according to a range of unconscious preferences, which determine how we interact with others. Also examined how certain metaprograms are better suited to specific roles and tasks.

Mark Deacon, L&D lead, Reveal Solutions
A senior leader with 30 years of project management experience in retail and food manufacturing, Mark is now an Occupational Psychologist, NLP & mBIT Trainer, Leadership and Organisational Development consultant, specialising in human behaviours, communication and relationships and how they impact the workplace. Director of Entrepleio Consulting Ltd and Reveal Solutions Training Ltd. Mark designed Entrepleio’s Leadership Development Psychometric. He is author of a number of coach development products including Developing Emotional Intelligence, Building Personal Resilience and GROW Model Coaching Cards.

Sophie Vyse, Partner, Leadership Success
Sophie is a Business Coach who uniquely combines her psychology expertise with over 20 years of hands-on experience in Agile transformation with organisations ranging from tech giants like Google and M&S to dynamic startups, Sophie discovered that understanding metaprograms is a real opportunity to transform project outcomes by understanding the unconscious patterns that motivate you, your stakeholders and project teams, which then opens the door to influencing behaviours. With her experience across Retail, Financial Services and Health, she helps leaders navigate organisational change, enhance performance, build better teams and improve wellbeing. She is passionate about what makes the “dream team”, including psychological safety to promote inclusivity and innovation.

The NLP Meta Programs (or the more practical Language and Behaviour Profile) is a fascinating branch of NLP that will enable you to improve your business and personal influencing skills and help you prevent and solve conflicts. Shelle Rose Charvet is recognised as the world NLP Meta Programs expert. Her book on the topic Words That Change Minds, is available in 20 languages. It is a Forbes best management book for executives and entrepreneurs. The CBC/CNBC television documentary Customer (Dis)Service featured her approach. Shelle has worked in over 30 countries helping organisations solve difficult communication and persuasion issues.

Tim Lyons, Owner, Gestionnaire
With a background in projects spanning more than 40 years, Tim has worked as a project consultant specialising in the outcome-focused delivery of large, complex, multi-disciplinary programmes for clients including Crossrail (Elizabeth Line), Network Rail, ExxonMobil, Siemens and in the IP development sector.

His first career was in broadcasting, where he designed and built commercial radio station studio complexes in Manchester, Cardiff and Bristol, latterly working behind the microphone as a presenter and programme producer for the UK’s first regular radio show about IT and the computer revolution in the 1980s.

Tim now writes and presents extensively on matters relating to the human and neurological aspects of projects, including communication, ethics and coaching. He holds a Master’s degree in NLP and Coaching and is an NLP Master Practitioner and International Coach. He is the Deputy Lead for APM’s People Interest Network.
