APM members in the Aberdeen area were given an insight into best practice in change management on 30 November 2017. Donna Unitt, the methods and standards theme lead for the Enabling Change SIG, delivered a presentation that offered an overview of how to implement change in a project context.

It was a snowy night, and this reduced numbers somewhat, but a good many still made it to the Robert Gordon University to gather the learning and network with peers.

Entitled “Managing Change in a Project Environment”, this was a highly relevant presentation for the attendees, judging from the number of questions asked and the verbal feedback given on the night. Once again, it was apparent just how much difference can be made to realising project benefits when good change management is used.

Thanks Donna, nice slide pack. I am starting to give change more focus now as I am soon to working for a public sector client and now will pursue political lessons learned on tackling resistance, so may even deploy Lewin's "Force Field" technique.
