Delivering for Durrell - The project behind how Jersey went wild for gorillas webinar
Durrell’s Go Wild Gorillas campaign captured the hearts of Islanders and visitors to Jersey and raised significant funds to help Durrell build a new enclosure for the zoo’s much-loved gorillas. Hear from the team behind the project on how they delivered such a successful campaign, the fundraising challenges faced in the time of COVID-19, and how the lessons learned influenced Durrell’s My Nature Watch project. This webinar was held on 6 April 2021.
The Association for Project Management (APM) was delighted to welcome Durrell as our guest speaker for the second APM Jersey event of 2021.
Open to APM and non-APM members, the event focused on the project behind the campaign and provided unique first-hand insight on Durrell’s ‘Rewild our world’ vision for a wilder, healthier, and more colourful future.
Beth Gallichan, Fundraising Manager at Durrell talked on Durrell’s vision, how the Go Wild Gorillas project originated, the campaign objectives, risks and issues, the highs, and lows, the challenges of managing a project with so many collaborators, reaching new audiences, unexpected occurrences and what comes next.
Delivering for Durrell was an event aiming to highlight a different type of project, the event will bring fresh insights to the local project management profession. One hour of CPD will be provided to event attendees.
