Body of Knowledge 7: meet our editorial team
Written by the profession for the profession, the APM Body of Knowledge has been the foundation for successful project management across all industries and sectors since the first edition was published in 1992.
The seventh edition – due to be published in spring 2019 – will be no exception. The process has already got off to a great start with more than 400 people from across the profession contributing to the initial consultation. You can read the results here.
Dr Ruth Murray-Webster HonFAPM, a highly experienced project professional, consultant and author, has been appointed editor of APM Body of Knowledge 7th edition. Ruth has been joined by Professor Darren Dalcher HonFAPM, who has written more than 200 refereed papers on project management and published over 30 books, as academic advisor.
Working to shape the feedback from the profession into the next edition, Ruth and Darren will lead a writing team offering a diverse range of skills and experiences from right across the profession: Charles Mills, Tayyab Jamil, Philip Bradbury and Dale Shermon.
Charles Mills is a successful programme and change manager whose roles have included head of London Underground Crossrail and operations director on the Jubilee Line Extension Project.
Tayyab Jamil is managing director of project and programme management consultancy Firewood. He has received awards for his role in projects with organisations ranging from Lloyds Banking Group and the NHS to Network Rail.
Philip Bradbury is a certified Agile Project Management Practitioner who has spent the past 10 years in a variety of project and programme management roles with Transport for London.
Philip said that being part of the editorial team was “a great chance to share knowledge with the wider community and help shape how the profession works for years to come”.
Dale Shermon is a QinetiQ Fellow and managing consultant, ACostE Fellow, chartered engineer and chair at the Society for Cost Analysis and Forecasting (www.SCAF.org.uk). Dale has over 30 years in cost estimating and risk analysis in both industry and government.
