Association for Project Management (APM) has successfully completed the validation process required of certification bodies by the International Project Management Association (IPMA).

The validation process ensures that APM has updated the IPMA qualifications it offers and reaffirms that these qualifications are being delivered according to the regulations. This means that project professionals considering gaining a new qualification with APM can be confident that the association’s practices meet the high standards required by IPMA.

The process involved APM self-assessment, reviewed by international validators. This was followed up with a two-day visit by validators, who met with APM employees to ensure that the organisation is operating in line with the regulations.

APM is now validated for a further three years.

“What a fantastic achievement,” said Jackie Martin, Head of Education and Lifelong Learning at APM. “We’re proud to uphold leading standards for the project profession and I’m particularly pleased that the validators were impressed by the quality of our offerings and noted that we exceeded in the number of areas of compliance required.

They also awarded us ‘exceptional quality’ scores across four areas which included: Production, sign off and quality assurance processes around question writing, the creation of assessment materials and the ongoing quality assurance of these; Feedback to candidates; Complaints and appeals handling.”
