The APM Wessex branch: Young project manager of the year award 2019 seeks to recognise rising talent in our area – those in the early stages of their project management career who are making a difference to their projects, the companies and clients they work with, and the project management profession as a whole.

We are looking for the candidate who has delivered the greatest benefit to their clients, project teams and wider stakeholders. The emphasis will be on the positive contribution the project manager has made to the outputs and outcomes of their project, whilst recognising the essential role that the project management techniques have in delivering success. Project management criteria are based on the APM Body of Knowledge 6th edition.

The award is open to project managers and specialists aged 30 years or under at the closing date for submission. Whilst candidates for this award must not be a student, project management apprentices are eligible.

Candidates must be nominated by the Wessex branch Corporate Member or Corporate Affiliate by whom they are employed or contracted. There is no limit on the number of entries from each member, although each entry must be submitted on a separate form.

This competition is being introduced within the Wessex region as a pilot event, and your support in making this event a success would be much appreciated. In addition, a Student of the year award is being implemented this year as an alternative competition to our usual Project Challenge event (following the unfortunate cancellation of this year’s event).

Finalists will give a presentation of their work at a presentation evening in March 2019 alongside the finalists of the APM Wessex branch: Student of the year award 2019. Marks from the presentation will be added to the marks already awarded for the written submission to provide an overall winner who will be announced at the end of the evening. In addition to the prestige that comes with winning the award, the winner will receive a trophy, £150 of Amazon vouchers, a year’s free membership of the APM and a range of APM merchandise. All finalists will receive a certificate recognising their achievement.

Please click events@apm.org.uk. Please do not submit any other documents.

The deadline has been extend to 1 February 2019.
