APM offers new book service for print-disabled learners

APM publications are now available through the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) Bookshare service.

The free service aims to break down the barriers faced by learners with print disabilities, highlighting APM’s commitment to meeting the demands of a growing and thriving profession.

Project professionals, and those studying, are now able to access key APM publications and resources in a range of formats and adapt them to suit their personal reading needs.

RNIB’s Bookshare service supports learners with any print disability in education, including vision impairment, dyslexia, and other learning or physical disabilities.

Commenting on the introduction of the service James Simons, APM publishing manager, said: “APM produces some of the most sought-after guides and publications for the profession. In many cases, these form important aids for a project professional’s training and development. As the chartered body for the project profession it is essential everyone operating in the field can access the material they need in a format that is accessible to them.”

Sophie Ainscough, RNIB publishing acquisition manager, said: “RNIB's Bookshare service is dedicated to breaking down the barriers faced by learners with print disabilities, providing equal access to the curriculum and, as a direct result, enhanced opportunities for employment and beyond. The full range of APM publications are available, including the APM Body of Knowledge 6^th edition. APM briefing documents, chartered documentation and leadership papers are also available on request.
