As the chartered body for the project profession, Association for Project Management (APM) is delighted to announce that over 2,000 project professionals have now achieved the coveted benchmark of Chartered Project Professional status (ChPP).

ChPP status enables those who meet the required standard to demonstrate a defined level of technical knowledge, professional practice and ethical behaviour.

Professionals of all ages, from a wide range of industry sectors and professional backgrounds have succeeded in becoming Chartered Project Professionals, making the milestone of 2,000 ChPPs as notable for its diversity as for its volume.

According to recent successful candidates, the benefits of gaining ChPP include:

  • Gaining personal and external recognition of a high standard that is common to many other professions
  • Promoting a high standard of competence using post-nominal letters (ChPP)
  • Enhancing their CV and earning potential
  • Demonstrating to employers the ability to operate in a complex project environment and meet ethical standards

Mark Hepworth, interim chief executive at APM, said: “This is a wonderful milestone for APM and the entire project profession. It comes at a pivotal time, as project skills are in high demand due to changing societal needs and the profound global changes brought about by the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit. With the widespread importance of project skills to society, it is gratifying to see more project, programme and portfolio professionals than ever before achieving such a high-benchmark for excellence with Chartered Project Professional status.”
