Dr Paul Chan
Professor of Design and Construction Management, Department of Management in the Built Environment, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology
Paul is Professor of Design and Construction Management in the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment in Delft University of Technology. He has developed a track record in studying how people cope with organisational, social and technological change, e.g. in areas of business model change, and on introducing social value and social sustainability in project-based organisations.
His current research on transdisciplinary collaboration in sustainability transitions includes funded projects from the Dutch Research Funding Agency, such as ‘Stepping Out’ a €1.2m project investigating how professionals can step outside of their knowledge domains to innovate, and ‘CirCol’ a €1.4m project to develop collaboration models in circular and emission-free housing renovation.
He also led the APM review study on the relationship between project management and productivity in 2018. Paul has authored/co-authored over 100 peer-reviewed journal and conference articles. He also authored Constructing Futures (2010), a Wiley-Blackwell publication on leadership and futures thinking.
