Welcome to the APM International Space Sector Interest Network.

Our purpose?
We want to create an international forum that brings together individuals from across the international space sector, sharing best practices, exchanging knowledge, facilitating discussions and events, and supporting capability building. Together, we will enhance the management and delivery of space projects and programmes.

What do we do?
We provide a collaborative open forum for those working in or curious about the international space sector. This forum brings together organisations and individuals from across the globe to share knowledge and expertise on project management standards within the sector.

We inform our members by highlighting some of the biggest programmes, projects, and technologies used in the sector, both regionally and internationally. We are also working to improve diversity within the space sector by engaging with underrepresented groups such as women and young people.

Our diverse community of senior leaders, academics, and professionals collectively facilitate improvements to project, programme, and portfolio management in the international space sector.

What do we offer our followers?
We provide regular opportunities for those working in or interested in the international space sector to connect with like-minded individuals. Whether through webinars or in-person meet-ups, we offer platforms for engagement, learning, networking, and career advancement.

How to get involved?
Our diverse community is open to both those working within and those interested in project, programme and portfolio management across the international space sector. We invite professionals of all types to join us — senior leaders, academics, industry and space agency professionals. We aim to reach as wide a group as possible, so please get in touch.

Network Founder and UK Government Advisor to the European Space Agency Martina Blake explains: “Our goal is to facilitate a diverse and inclusive international forum that collectively advances project management worldwide. Together we will provide a vital platform for collaboration, forging a multilateral alliance among space agencies, governments, industry, and academia."

Making space for women
Here in the UK, I head up the UK Space Agency’s Office for Project and Programme Management. Founded in 2010, the Agency is at the heart of the growing space sector in the UK. It delivers on key ambitions set out in the UK’s National Space Strategy by catalysing investment into the space sector, delivering missions and capabilities, and championing the power of space to improve services across the economy and inspire the next generation. The Agency also manages the UK’s investments in, and membership of, the European Space Agency (ESA), an inter-governmental organisation independent of the European Union.
