Measures for assuring projects
The next work stream that I would like to introduce to you is the measures for assuring projects (developing methods for generating assurance without intrusive reviews). Its' goal is to share best practice in the use of measures which can deliver effective assurance.
'Measures' is intended to cover both the assurance process and metrics.
We are developing guidance for organisations wanting to implement a regime on all of its projects such that assurance information (in the form of ratings against set criteria) is generated without intrusive audit. The work stream have made good progress over the last 12 months and they are in the process of publishing a white paper for wider engagement and feedback.
Representatives from the work stream will present an extract from the white paper during Knowledgeshare 2011.
If you have any queries or want to get involved, we would love to hear from you. Feel free to contact us directly or add a comment below".

Just a question really, given that 30 plus years of process based PPM still results in around 70% project failure (lots of reseach, Gartner, Cranfield, HMGov.....), what are the factors that in the future will assure project (and programme) success?Any PPM approach can be defined by: Process, Technology and People. So do we need criteria for all three, and just what viable metrics might apply to the people aspects? Hmmm, this is gonna be hard!
