I’m privileged to chair the board of trustees of APM. The opportunity to represent the views of fellow professionals and to shape its direction, particularly as we become a chartered profession, is an honour.

The APM Board is an exciting and challenging place and we have the task of leading your association as it looks to continue our growth and deliver our new strategy; Inspiring Change. There is much underway and much to do in delivering our vision.

Being a board member requires dedication and commitment, but it also needs to be relevant, capable and representative. That’s why voting in board elections is the most important thing you can do with your membership. The decision you take when voting shapes the Board, and the decisions we take shape your profession and your career. Our decisions are your decisions.

With the profession growing in number, across all sectors of industry and beyond, and with an increasingly diverse range of people, it is important that every area of the profession is represented.

Those of you who are full members of APM have the benefit of being able to participate in our governance. A record number of your fellow members have put themselves forward to serve as trustees this year and now you have the opportunity to help decide who leads us.

It’s the Board which determines and drives our strategy. We consider topics such as how will we grow and what our priorities will be. How can we better support the profession, deliver on our vision and deliver public benefit? We set the strategy and support and challenge the executive and volunteers to deliver it.

We all need the Board to be as experienced and as capable as possible. We need people of integrity, people who can operate at the highest strategic level and people who can bring a diverse and broad range of experience to the table.

I would appreciate it if you can take the time to vote and confirm your choice to join the APM board. Look out for your hard copy voting pack and emails from Electoral Reform Services (ERS).

The ERS site contains the full details of all candidates’ statements and question answers.

Thank you for your continued support.
