If you plan to update your membership, book an event or access APM Learning, APM Community or use other resources, please do this outside of these dates.
The 15 November Chartered Project Professional submission date is unaffected.
Thank you for your patience.
Jessal Murarji
Jessal is a Chartered Engineer and gives advice on managing civil infrastructure and developing property that could have an impact on civil infrastructure. Be warned if you consult him: he won’t just do what is prescribed but will advise you what he thinks is right – whether you like it or not!
Jessal was the Professional Head of Infrastructure at the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB), did stints at Network Rail, engineering consultancies and contractors, and served on an operational tour of Afghanistan with the Corps of Royal Engineers.
As an employee he moved around a lot, and never worried about how it looked on his CV.
Jessal is a board member in the housing sector, and an independent advisor to Defence. He has also resurrected a former government research and development unit: the Military Engineering Experimental Establishment (MEXE).
Jessal has been pushing for diversity in recent years, and has felt an incomprehensible resistance. His aim is not just ensuring that protected characteristics are not discriminated against - but to have a good balance of backgrounds and technical disciplines, on boards and in project teams, to achieve cognitive diversity.
