Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE DL, APM President
Yvonne Thompson is an entrepreneur and business leader who became President of APM in 2024.
Originally from Guyana, South America, Yvonne has accomplished a varied and distinguished career in a diverse range of business sectors, including being a founding member of radio station Choice FM (now Capital XTRA), Music Editor of Root magazine, Managing Director of Marketing and PR company ASAP Communications, and President of the European Federation of Black Women Business Owners – now Wintrade Global Women In Business Network. In addition to her work in the UK, Yvonne has been involved with many international business projects and initiatives.
She has four Fellowships including from King's College London, along with honorary doctorates from London Metropolitan University and the University of Plymouth. She is also a Deputy Lieutenant of Greater London.
As a successful author, speaker and influencer, Yvonne is a passionate advocate for many positive causes, including issues relevant to small businesses, women and people of minority backgrounds.
