APM Code of Professional Conduct
As the chartered body for the project profession, we’re committed to setting the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics for all project.
All individual APM members (irrespective of their grade) and all Chartered Project Professionals (ChPPs) commit to the APM Code of Professional Conduct which sets out the standards of conduct expected of those working in the professionals.
How it works
The Code of Professional Conduct is approved by the Board of Trustees and was developed in consultation with people both within and outside the profession.
An assessor or a professional conduct committee may hear cases of an alleged breach of the Code in line with the procedural rules. This allows us to build public trust and assurance in the project management profession. Please read the procedural rules first if you are considering raising a professional conduct issue.
We have also issued Indicative Sanctions Guidance which sets out the factors which an assessor or the professional conduct committee will determine in deciding what is an appropriate sanction for specific breaches of the Code of Professional Conduct.
Please use the complaint form to register a complaint against a member of APM.
When to use the disciplinary process
The disciplinary process relates specifically to breaches in the Code of Professional Conduct.
